The 2016 ACS Portland Hope Ball and Polo Classic
Saturday, August 20th, 2016
at the stunning and picturesque
Hidden Creek Polo Club
2700 SW Homesteader Rd
West Linn, Oregon
Join us at this elite event and enjoy an afternoon Polo Match
followed by an evening of fine dining and fundraising under the stars.
All proceeds from the Portland Hope Ball go to the American Cancer Society,
with the goal of furthering the ACS’s primary objectives:
Finding a cure for cancer
Reducing cancer-related fatalities
Caring for cancer patients
Proceeds also support the Society’s education efforts – which bring more awareness to cancer in our community – and support services that provide patients, survivors and their families with a better quality of life.
Donations made at the Portland Hope Ball will be put to very good use — to date, the American Cancer Society is the largest non-governmental funder of cancer research in the United States and has invested nearly $5 million dollars on cancer research in Oregon alone.
Here is one example of the impact the American Cancer Society has had on research and breakthroughs in cancer fighting medication: the financial support of the ACS was central to the research of Dr. Brian Druker at OHSU. Dr. Druker’s work resulted in the development of the drug Gleevec, which has reduced fatalities from chronic myelogenous leukemia from 97% to 3%!
Your contributions at the Portland Hope Ball and Polo Classic will lead to more victories like this and will make an invaluable impact in the fight against cancer.
Please contact Lisa Bergeson if you are interested in getting involved by donating or volunteering for the 2016 Hope Ball and Polo Classic!
